Campaign for a 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award from Black Entertainment Television (BET) for MC SHA-ROCK
The purpose of this petition is to request that MC Sha-Rock the first female emcee and rapper in Hip Hop be honored with a Black Entertainment (BET) Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. Sha-Rock began her career as a b-girl in 1976 and became a member of the Funky Four in 1977 and then the Funky Four Plus One More (the first group from the Bronx to secure a record deal). Sha-Rock was also in the Hip-Hop the US Girls with Debbie "D' and Lisa Lee in the movie "Beat Street." She is also the innovator and trendsetter responsible for incorporating b-girl and fly-girl culture in Hip-Hop movement, culture, music and industry.
Respectfully,
